I figured I'd go ahead and make this topic. It's better late than never.
We are at the ALCS and NLCS stage of the playoffs right now.
In the ALCS, we have the Detroit Tigers and New York Yankees.
In the NLCS, we have the St. Louis Cardinals and San Fransisco Giants.
The Cardinals shocked the world and devastated the Nationals when they scored four runs in the top of the 9th of game 5 in the NLDS. They went into the top of the 9th losing 5-7 and then they scored four runs, being down to their final out when scoring all four of the runs. What's especially amazing is they performed such an amazing comeback playing on the road while Nationals fans were on their feet going crazy cheering on their pitcher that was supposed to close the game out. The Nationals were literally one strike away from winning multiple times. If I was a Nationals fan, I would have been crushed. The Cardinals went on to close out the Nationals in the bottom of the 9th, getting the 9-7 victory and going on to the NLCS. The Cardinals are the most exciting team in baseball. The only team I see preventing them from winning the World Series is the Tigers because they have been hot lately. With that being said, what's going on in the ALCS? The Tigers won the first two games and are now leading the series 2-0 over the Yankees. Yankees captain and veteran leader Derek Jeter broke his ankle in the first game of this series. That pretty much symbolizes how this series has went for the Yankees so far. At this rate, the Tigers should get the sweep. Derek Jeter is of course out for the season and he will probably have to have surgery. Alex Rodriguez isn't injured anymore, but he has been playing awful. He has been in one of the biggest slumps of his career lately. There's also guys like Robinson Cano and Mark Teixera, but I don't think they're going to make much of a difference in this case.
Thoughts?
