Now that the CBA has expired, it did so at midnight EST, the NHL is now in a lockout. It was no secret that this was going to happen, but it is now officially on. For the second CBA in a row the NHL will go into a lockout after failing to get a deal done before the previous one expired. Like the last lockout anything more than half season will be a miracle. I would not be shocked to see at the end of the year for the second time in NHL history the words "Season Not Played" on the Stanley Cup. As sad as it is I am not expecting any NHL hockey this year, meaning the minors will be very good with some players going to play in them as they did in 04-05 during the previous lockout.

I read somewhere that they cancelled more games like a few days ago. I may be referring to the article above though. I really hope they get this lockout solved and have at least some kind of shortened season. The second hockey starts becoming more popular around here, this happens. It doesn't help the NHL fan base. It's not good for the sport.
