Wings fan so I am going to Bowman as far as all time. He put HockeyTown on the map again. Right now I am unsure. I would say Babs, but he lacks vision along with my others in the Wings front office. The guys like Hank, Dats, and Lidstrom aren't getting younger. Its time to go for the youth and let them sink or swim. Within 5years the Wings streak of years in the playoffs will end, our prospects are just that. None have proven themselves in the NHL since few have been given a chance. Instead we sign washed up dirtbags like Commdore and Modano.

I like Dan, but I hate the Pens organization. I like Todd McLellan, he has the same system that is used in Detroit with the Sharks. He used it to beat the Wings a couple of times. He isn't there yet with the team, but the team will win it all if he stays there.

Claude Julien. He coaches the Bruins, and he's really the only coach I know. Plus, he led us to a Stanley Cup last year.

John Tortorella is just a cool guy, and knows how to handle his team.

Dan Bylsma has had a successful team these past few years, but he does coach a lot of talent. Most of the talent was there before he came around. Michel Therrien was great as well, if he would have won the Stanley Cup (back in 2008?) with the Pens, he would have kept his job. It was a total slap to the face when Dan Blysma won the Stanley Cup in his first season as the head coach of the Pens. Kind of funny that is was against the Red Wings as well. I also have respect for what Barry Trotz has done with the Nashville Predators. There really aren't too many hockey fans in Tennessee, but the Preds seem to be getting better each year, and groups of local fans are forming.

I don't consider flaming another member a sports argument. If you were actually addressing a post that would be fine, but addressing a user with curses because of one of their posts; that's flaming and it would be off-topic anyways.

The best all time is easily Scotty Bowman, as wingnut pointed out. With as many rings as he has, and the way he did it, its undeniable. As for active coach, Ken Hitchcock. Look at what he did for Dallas in his time there, Philadelphia when he was here, even Columbus for the bit he was here. Finally St. Louis, where he has down the unthinkable, and turned this horrible team into a playoff worthy team with a strong defensive front leading the way. A very impressive feat for this man, another to add to his resume.
