My current list of favorite players. Might be forgetting some. Click on their name for a chosen video of them in action and a description of why I like them so much follows. ;D
I won't list any old-school players, besides MJ.
Michael Jordan -- He's Michael F*cking Jordan. Come on. GOAT.
Kevin Garnett -- Probably the most passionate and intense NBA players EVER. He gets inside his opponents head with his yelling, chest banging, etc (remember how he hits his head against the basket pole?). Also a very talented guy, once the face of a franchise but now a world champion.
Rajon Rondo -- To me, the best point guard in the league. He is still quite young and already one of the greatest dime-dishers in NBA history, not to mention his amazing patented ball-fakes are a sight to behold. And he's only going to get better.
Paul Pierce -- The Celtic's longtime star and team captain, Pierce has put up with less than desirable teammates for a long time, putting up great numbers but not getting far in the Playoffs because of his teammates. Now that he's got his crew anything is possible. Too old to win another championship? Hell naw.
Ray Allen -- Awesome shooter and an exceptional shooting guard. Never really seems to lose his cool either. Just keeps shooting his sweet jumpshot as he gets older. They say the last thing to go as players age is their shot.
Allen Iverson -- This guy plays much bigger than his height (they say 6', but anyone who's played with him would say an inch or two shorter). His style of play was exciting; a point guard who focuses more on scoring than simply assists.
Shaquille O'Neal -- Considered one of the greatest centers to ever hit an NBA court; to me he's the GREATEST of all time. Sorry Wilt, sorry Kareem. Shaq is not only an awesome player, but he has a great attitude and is multi-talented: basketball player, rapper, actor... And he's actually intelligent too ("The Big Aristotle").
Tracy McGrady -- A shame what his career has become. He was better than Kobe and LeBron in his prime (um, 13 points in 35 seconds; can you say "clutch?"); days with the Magic and early years with the Rockets, the team he should have never left. Injuries set him way back and it's unlikely he will ever recover and put up numbers even close to the ones he did when he was at his best.
Rasheed Wallace -- Dude is funnier than hell and call ball too. He makes technical fouls funny... Remember when Sheed was ejected for looking (as the ref would say, "intimidating) that one ref? Hilarious stuff.
Vince Carter -- The NBA has never seen a high-flyer like Vince. Yea, he was a better dunker than Jordan. Disagree? Than you, my friend, haven't seen his performance in the 2000 Slam Dunk Contest. His legs aren't as springy these days but he is still playing a key role with a veteran presence with the Suns.
Please, feel free to comment and post your own favorite players. ;D
