Mike Modano signed with the Dallas stars a one day contract today so he could retire as a Star. He put on the star's sweater for the last time and signed the $999,999 contract. It's sad to see him go but i'm happy that he came back to Dallas to finish. The greatest American born player choked up as he announced to the world that he was done.

wish he would've played just one more to stop at 1500. He should've retired last year as a Star, but seeing as he came this far one more game for even a shift would only be right.

Wow that was really classy of him. I wonder if he made any money just in the one day contract.

He was one of the few hockey players I knew about, sad to see a legend go.

No he didn't get paid. I saw in another article that he was signing it, but sending in his retirement papers at the same time.
